make stunning bedside lamp in minutes:-
Where the Idea came from ?!
i wanted to make a unique wooden laser cut bedside lantern.

So I started by sketching it.
No need to be professional at drawing, just draw your idea roughly, after sketching it I jumped into AutoCAD (my favorite software to make and design DXF files for laser cutting and engraving) to design my idea.
I want the lantern to be 20cm height and 15cm for both width and length, so I started by making the file units scale in millimeter then drew 20cm X 15cm rectangle for the lantern side.
Here we should decide what material thickness we are gonna use.
Now is the time to add the interlocking pieces for the side.
The lantern base will be 15cm X 15cm square.
After drawing it I made its interlocks then copy these interlocks and placed it at the bottom of the side where the base interlocks with the sides.
At the middle of the base I added a small circle for the electric cord and 2 more smaller circles for the lamp socket screws.
The cap should be removable to be able to change the lamp.
The cap is in the same size of the base with pins to lay on the lantern.
Now the design is ready to add a beautiful and unique pattern to its sides and cap to give a fantastic shade of light.
